Boating with the Bahrs- Sept 10, 2016

Our sweet friends, the Bahrs let us tag along on a boating trip again. Medina Lake was the destination.  We were so stoked!

The weather was beautiful when we started. Then it got rainy suddenly and the storm that ensued was crazy!

You can't see in the picture very well, but the water gave Missy a hard time--she held the boat at the dock while Tyler got the truck. We "kids" watched from the covered pavilion.

While not everybody got a turn, we all made some great memories. Love those Bahrs!

Labor Day Weekend 2016

We decided to do some fun things on Labor Day weekend. The North Star Mall hosted the Lego Americana Roadshow for a few weeks and we went to see it on Saturday.
It was fun for all of us to see the details, especially in the different-themed scenes.
Of course, the greatest works (in size, for sure) were the American historical landmarks: Independence Hall, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, the Washington Monument, etc. My favorite was the detail on the Supreme Court building.
Most of the pictures aren't too great; and a picture couldn't do it justice anyway.
You might notice the face Ellie's been practicing in a bunch of the pictures.
On Monday, we went to the Cave Without a Name. We had heard it was pretty nifty and we thoroughly enjoyed our private tour. As much as I love remembering our time in caves, I've gotten so I don't like taking pictures. For one thing, they never look as cool as it really is. For another, you miss the experience when you try to take pictures. However, the kids loved the gift shop while we waited and we had to take a picture of this amazing seat Natalie's sitting in. It used to be an old Indian canoe, and it's been bent into a chair!

School Starts!

As soon as we got home from Utah (which took a few less trouble than getting there), we had to scramble to get ready to go back to school!  I was in denial for quite a while that summer would even be ending soon. But we did send those kiddies to school on the first day!

And, lest we forget that Natalie was left at home with no siblings, here's a little video of her dominating the abandoned breakfast table.

Last Supper & Saying Goodbye

Our time in Utah came to an end on August 15, when we drove out of Cedar Hills for the last time in 2016. Gosh, it sounds so final. So, of course, Mom hosted a Goodbye Dinner for us with some delicious food.

The hug that comes after family prayers!

Such memories we get to collect while we are there; it's almost hard to leave, but we missed the Daddy.
