Standard of Living

So we've had a few requests to post pictures of our "new" apartment...maybe my grim tone of voice has made our loved ones worried. Anyhoo, here they are. If you have a problem with what I've "done with the space," you can just fight me...or give me some pointers because I don't know what the heck I'm doing.

Let's start with the best part: the view from our floor. It's great because we're on the top and it feels more secluded with all the trees. This picture really doesn't capture the fall colors that we're seeing lately, and today was an especially beautiful day: it was windy but sunny, so the leaves were shining like gems as they fell.

From the entrance of our building...

We have a playground right in front of our building.

(Disregard the trash in the background)

The living/dining room...

The CC (not to be confused with WC), or Cooking Closet:

Isaac's room:

Noah's room/play room:

Master:

There's nothing like moving to make you appreciate your old situation. But we are enjoying the good things and trying to work with the annoying ones.

So whaddya think?

The pictures don't look too bad-but believe me I know the joys of moving...and then attempting to find something that is affordable and livable. Good luck with everything, you are a trooper, or if you are an Abba fan a Super Trooper! How is Jared liking school so far?

Holy, moly, you guys are living it up. We've never bought any furniture and hardly any decorations, I think we should start, maybe with couches.

I love Isaac's wall, what you did with curtains, bedspread and dresser set in your bedroom, and kitchen is very cute. Nice you have a playground right outside. Many fun kids around?

I think it looks great! Those trees are beautiful, and I'm glad you have a playground so close by. The apartment is lovely--I'd say you've done a great job!

It looks great! I bet it's nice to spread out a little bit. And the trees and playground are awesome!

Good for you! That looks fantastic. Our walls are still completely bare and we've been in our place for two months. And I don't have two kids to run after all day. I am very proud. You've always been a great decorator...

I can always trust you people to buoy me up if there's any doubt in my writing (and I don't say "you people" in the tone of voice my grandma would use)! Thanks. I should have mentioned: I totally cleaned up and PURPOSEFULLY put up most all our pictures (b/c it made it feel more like home, which was very very necessary) before taking any pictures. And it actually is a very quiet neighborhood. No (more) complaints.

well, at least your place looks like grown ups live there. Mine has concert posters on the wall, a futon, beat up couch, and empty wine bottles everywhere. As a bonus, my bed is a mattress on the floor. LOL I got rid of so much stuff when I moved back to GA from NY and have been afraid of buying furniture.

Hey guys,
This is JaNae, remember me from the BYU Argentina trip? I found you on Lisa's blog. You're in Baltimore?! Where exactly do you live? My husband and I have lived in Columbia, Maryland for the past four years. We should get together! Email me at haycocks@verizon.net.
